Estella was born with a congenital back condition, Spina Bifida, which resulted in her having three surgeries at 3 months, 10 years and 15 years old. Her last two surgeries were at Cook Children's Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas. During her time at the hospital, she was encouraged to use art as a form of expression and a means of coping. Now that she has been out of the hospital for a while , she still works with Cook's art department, volunteering on projects and various other charities. Her hope is to give to other children in the hospital what she had, through creativity and art!
